Show & Tell

Skowhegan Bird Club, Show & Tell edition, in which we (probably) identified a bird based only on its call. Originally presented May 28, 2021, 6:30PM

For our third meeting, we had a Show & Tell; Bird Club members were invited to share their avian experiences from the past few weeks. This could include anecdotes, sightings, bird calls, bird songs, poems, readings, recordings, newly acquired knowledge, observations, names or descriptions of birds you've come across. We were happy to receive all of those things and more! As expected, there was some amount of struggle with screen share, but learning about so many different relationships with birding and birds was truly a revelation.

Though mediated through video and time, and punctuated with the occasional but expected technical trouble, this recording offers a way to get to know how your fellow Bird Club members are navigating this newfound space of “bird noticing”. Each person shared a facet of their unique relationships to birds: biological, environmental, physical, emotional, political, and artistic.
